Finally got to the Musée de Quai Branly- Jacques Chirac. It's only 3 minutes walk from our apartment but we kept putting off our visit. It houses an exhibition of indigenous art and artifacts from all continents. It's a very extensive exhibition and needs a good few hours to see it all. It was interesting to see how indigenous art in one area can be so influenced by that from another.

Shopping therapy time as we made our way to Rue de Rivoli. Most of it was window shopping as the area has got more and more low end, especially with all the souvenir shops along here. Didn't stop us sticking our noses in.

That night we went back to "Les Vieille Vignes" for dinner. Steph had a tasty entrecôte of veal and I had a seafood and pasta dish that was also delicious. We'd promised ourselves dessert so ordered profiteroles - expecting one on a plate. But when it arrived, it was three! Filled with ice cream, and served with whipped cream with hot chocolate poured over. Neither of us could finish but we gave it a damned good try.

Under drizzling skies we headed out first to the Musée des Égouts de Paris - yes folks, the Paris Sewers Meseum. Interesting - yes. Informative - yes. Comfortable - ?? You know that smell you occasionally get when you pass a drain opening? Well, it's there constantly. So we quickly went through without stopping at the gift shop - yes there is!

Onto the Metro to Montmartre and those helical stairs at the station. We took the funicular up to the steps of Sacre Cœur but no visit because services were in progress for Easter Saturday. We walked through Place de Tertre and down towards the Montmartre vineyard. It's the last one within Paris and still produces a vintage each year. Took pics of many gardens and parks before checking out more souvenir shops. Then on to Éspace Dali - now there's an exhibition.

Battled back through the artists who wanted to draw us (for a fee) then back down the funicular (Steph walked). Finally back in our district (7th arrondissement) after the crowds on the Metro, we went to the supermarché for Toulouse sausages for dinner avec vegetables. (Do you notice there's a lot of avec in food at restaurants these days?)
