Lots of things close early on Sunday

We promised ourselves an easy day but it really ended up anything but.
We read about the Sunday markets at Bastille so got going earlyish on the metro and arrived to a very colourful (in one part) market with so much on display: flowers, meat, sausages, breads & croissants, fruit & veg, and of course, cheese. I think I found all 246 types that Charles de Gaulle mentioned - and more. I will try to get a photo in.
Brodie wanted to try the pain au chocolat so we had a sweet breakfast that also included croissants and apricot pastry.
Then onto the metro to Choco Story - the museum of chocolate (another of Brodie's choices). It was interesting and included a pre-tasting, demonstration with more tasting and finished with a hot chocolate.
We obviously needed to work off the chocolate, etc so we took the metro to the base of Montmartre and the funicular to the top. If you think there's not much walking involved - think again. Every time you have to change from one line to another (correspondance) there is usually a long walk involved, many stairs, and usually no escalators.
The view from the top is great but the visit inside the Church coincided with the end of mass so there was a huge crowd.
(To be continued)
